Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection at Bergey's Chevrolet in Colmar, PA
A multi-point vehicle inspection is one of the most straightforward things you can do to stay ahead of unexpected repairs. At Bergey's Chevrolet in Colmar, our GM-certified technicians perform a thorough review of your vehicle's key systems and components, giving you a clear and honest picture of its current condition. We check what needs attention now, what to monitor going forward, and what's in good shape - so you can make informed decisions about your vehicle without guesswork.
What Our Multi-Point Inspection Covers
Our inspection works through the critical areas of your vehicle from front to back. Each system is evaluated by a GM-certified technician using factory-level knowledge of your specific model. The inspection covers the following areas:
- Tires and wheels - tread depth measurement, tire condition, inflation check, and visual inspection for damage, uneven wear, or sidewall concerns that could affect handling and safety.
- Brakes - brake pad thickness, rotor condition, caliper function, and brake lines are examined to confirm your stopping system is operating within safe parameters.
- Battery and charging system - battery voltage and cold cranking capacity are tested, along with the condition of terminals and connections and the performance of the alternator.
- Fluid levels - engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer fluid are all checked and topped off as needed.
- Belts and hoses - the serpentine belt, accessory belts, radiator hoses, and coolant hoses are inspected for cracks, fraying, wear, and proper tension.
- Filters - the engine air filter and cabin air filter are checked for restriction and contamination. A clogged filter reduces performance and air quality inside the vehicle.
- Lights and wipers - all exterior lighting including headlights, taillights, turn signals, and brake lights are tested for proper operation. Wiper blades are checked for streaking, skipping, or deterioration.
- Suspension and steering - shocks, struts, tie rods, ball joints, and steering components are inspected for wear, play, or damage that could affect ride quality and handling.
- Exhaust system - the exhaust manifold, catalytic converter, muffler, and pipes are visually inspected for leaks, damage, or corrosion.
- Underbody - a visual inspection of the frame, undercarriage, and accessible components is performed to check for visible leaks, rust, or damage.
Why Regular Inspections Matter
Most vehicle problems don't appear without warning - they develop gradually through normal use and wear. A multi-point inspection at regular intervals lets our technicians catch developing issues before they become failures. A brake pad that's approaching its wear limit, a belt showing early cracking, or a fluid level that keeps dropping can all be identified and addressed during a routine inspection rather than during an emergency. The cost and inconvenience of preventive maintenance is almost always less than the cost of the repair it prevents.
GM-Certified Technicians Using Factory-Specific Knowledge
Not all inspections are equal. The value of having your Chevrolet inspected at Bergey's is that our technicians are trained specifically on GM vehicles and have access to factory specifications for every model we service. They know the wear tolerances, the known service intervals, and the system-specific details that a general shop working across many brands may not. When a Bergey's technician evaluates your Silverado, Equinox, Traverse, Tahoe, Colorado, or any other Chevrolet model, they're comparing what they find against the standard Chevrolet engineers built that vehicle to meet.
Included With Other Service Visits
A multi-point inspection is performed as part of many routine service visits at Bergey's Chevrolet, including oil changes. Rather than scheduling it as a standalone appointment every time, you can rely on our team to evaluate your vehicle's overall condition each time you come in for scheduled maintenance. If anything requires attention, your service advisor will walk you through what was found and what your options are - clearly and without pressure.
